Between figure skating, hockey and lacrosse at the Gananoque Recreation Centre, paddling on the St. Lawrence River, Gananoque River, local lakes and the Rideau Canal, scuba diving, archery, biking, swimming, fishing, snowshoeing, skiing, hiking and more, the area has an abundance of opportunity to get your sporting groove on.

Gananoque and the 1000 Islands has even fostered some famous athletes, two of which are in recent memory: the NHL's Alyn McCauley who plays for the San Jose Sharks and Olympic kayaker Andrew Willows, who got his start at the Gananoque Canoe Club.
